Interview between Sammie and Jake
1. Where did you guys meet?
Sammie: Y&G
Interviewer (Skye): Y&G Sacramento?
Sammie: Well, we had met before; Jake hated me.
Jake: In ninth grade, we met. She had all of her friends in Y&G and I didn’t like her, or Leona.
Sammie: Yeah, some crucial information. Then we fell in love. No just kidding.
Jake: But I mean in the program I was a new shy kid because I’m shy when I don’t know people and I didn’t talk to anyone until the end and then the next year in tenth grade, in Y&G, she would apologize to me and basically come up to me and say “I’m sorry for whatever I did to you. I don’t know what I did.”
Sammie: I did that once.
Jake: I don’t remember how I reacted but I didn’t really do anything. At the end of tenth grade year in the program I began to like her, or be okay with talking to her. You know how Sacramento is kind of the big finale of it, so the week after Sacramento tenth grade year we had all the tenth graders hang out like Gideon, Leona and Jordan Lamb.
Sammie: Jake, we did it specifically so we could hook up.
Jake: And then yeah that’s the first time we hooked up. We hooked up for a month and I asked her out.
Sammie: Two months.
Jake: Two months. Really, two months?
Sammie: Two months.
Jake: Two months. We hooked up for two months.
2. How long have you been together?
Sammie: Two years in April.
Jake: So a year and 8 months? 9 months.
3. What’s your favorite thing about each other?
Sammie: Uhm, I don’t know.
Jake: In what sense?
Interviewer (Skye): It can apart of their appearance or personality.
Sammie: Well, I know Jake’s physical for me.
Jake: I like her boobs a lot but that’s just you know sexual physical. I like her face, but her eyes and her lips.
Sammie: Aw
Jake: Other than that I usually get bored of girls after hooking up with them and I never got bored of Sammie. In terms of conversation and friendship. She’s my friend too.
Sammie: Aw, okay I’ll start with personality first. What made me really start to like him was that he was not like most guys in the sense that he wasn’t completely unaware of my emotions or uncaring of people’s emotions. The fact that he can be sensitive and I just had a lot of fun with him. He also drove me nuts which at the beginning made me want him more.
Jake: I drove you nuts?
Sammie: It was like, you would just make-
Jake: In a good way or a bad way?
Sammie: Just in the way that you played a little hard to get. In the sense that I had you but you were always running off with your guy friends and then I got him. Physically, I mean I don’t know. You’re just all around attractive. You’re lips, my favorite part of your face and your big eyes, your little big bug eyes, and your neck.
4. Would you describe yourselves as a couple that enjoys PDA or intimacy in a private environment?
Sammie: Both.
Jake: I prefer intimacy in a private environment but I like public displays of affection but not-
Sammie: Making out.
Jake: Public displays of-
Sammie: Sex.
Jake. Yeah, sex. You know sexual conduct. Even if it’s not bad it still can be rude to people. It just is, I mean you cant interact with two people who are vigorously making out or always sitting on each other and looking at each other or sexually kind of flirting with each other; you know how couples do that. . If someone is completely okay with that then that’s a whole other story but it kind of goes with rather safe than sorry. It’s better to just keep away from being too…
Sammie: We like to make our friends feel comfortable.
Jake: Yeah, but we still do sometimes. I mean Sammie has her face in my neck a lot of the time.
Sammie: I put my fingers on his ear.
Jake: Yeah that too.
5. What’s your favorite thing to do together?
Sammie: When he was gone for a really long time he said the thing that he missed more than anything was just hanging out with me and listening to music and smoking.
Jake: Oh, yeah. Well, it’s not really like there’s just one thing. It’s like with your friends. Well, I guess there is usually one thing you like to do with certain friends most, you know for some people it’s playing sports for others its video games or painting and just making art of some sort, being creative. Stimulating that part of your skills or interests. With a lot of people it’s just doing something with them and being able to do all the things you like with them. Just being around them and living your life with them but not just doing one thing. I do enjoy going out to eat with her.
Sammie: Yeah! We always bond when were on a date.
Jake: Well, we don’t really go on dates. We go out and we don’t call it a date at all but I guess one would define it as a date. It’s just you know hanging out.
Sammie: Best friends!
